SATURDAY 11 APRIL 10.00 - 4.00
St John's Hall Marchwood (see Venues Page )
Maximum 12 members. £10 Please pre-book.

Collage, Colour & Texture Inspired by the Work of Mike Bernard

Mike's style is vibrant and energetic.  He has a structured method of working, starting with collage to suggest the overall feel of the painting, then building up layer upon layer of drawing, painting and more collage.

WHAT TO BRING: ● Photos and sketches for inspiration.  Gail suggests sticking to buildings as a theme - holiday snaps will be ideal.   Acrylic is the best paint to use.  Acrylic inks, particularly in black and white help to establish the drawing phase of the picture.   Mixed media is good for the upper layers to give detail.  Oil pastels, posca pens, or other dry media would adhere to acrylic paint.  ● Collage materials  ● Canvas board, MDF or plywood as a base, something able to take the layers. ● Kitchen towel, knives, brushes and any tools to make interesting marks. ● A plastic cover for your table and chair and your lunch.
